Marshfield is a welcoming community of approximately 19,000 residents located in central Wisconsin, spanning Wood and Marathon counties. Marshfield sought a solution to improve communication with residents and make information more accessible. Recognizing the increasing reliance on mobile devices, city staff explored mobile app options in 2020 to better engage citizens. Their goal was to create an easy-to-use platform where residents could quickly access important updates and resources.
Marshfield implemented GOGov’s Citizen Notifications platform to deliver instant notifications and provide a centralized hub for essential information. Through the city’s mobile app “Connect Marshfield”, residents can find easy links to city information and receive urgent updates directly to their smartphones. The app has become a vital resource for sharing timely alerts about snow emergencies, immediate closures, and event cancellations. By offering a convenient way for residents to stay informed, Marshfield has enhanced its communication strategy significantly.
