City of Jackson, MN launches new mobile app
Customer launches

The city of Jackson has launched its own mobile app.

Dubbed, “Jackson Connect,” the new mobile application is being billed by the city as a mobile citizen engagement app, designed to put everything citizens need to know from the city in the palms of their hands.

Jackson Mayor Marcus Polz said the app is a great source of information for city news, snow emergencies, garbage pickup changes and service interruptions and updates, as well as an important link to the city website, allowing city staff the opportunity to streamline important community communications and information to citizens in more efficient ways.

“As mayor, one of my priorities has been technology for citizen engagement,” Polz said last week. “I am extremely proud of everyone’s efforts in developing a mobile app that will engage our citizens with a reliable source of information for events, alerts, as well as general notifications. Easily bringing content to the fingertips of our citizens marks a new era. This application lays the groundwork to bring our citizens future updates, such as trail maps, local places of interest and so much more.”

Jackson City Administrator Matt Skaret agreed.

“This will be great for our residents,” Skaret said. “In addition to notifications, users will have the most commonly used features from our website right at their fingertips. No more clicking three, four, five or more times to find what you’re looking for.”

The free app, which is powered through GOGov, is available to be downloaded via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
